By the end of this module, you should be able to:
- Identify when an outbreak is considered over.
- Describe the importance of outbreak debriefs or hotwashes.
- Describe the documentation that must be completed upon closing an outbreak.
- Understand privacy and open records act requirements.
Finally, let’s go over closing an outbreak. Once an outbreak is over there are a few things we should do to document and learn from what we did. In this module we will cover the importance of outbreak reports, hotwashes, and NORS forms, as well as considerations around record retention.
Now it is time to close the STEC outbreak in the case scenario we have been working on.
