Colorado Mobile Health Project
Typically conducted by phone, routine enteric disease case interviews are critical for foodborne illness surveillance, outbreak detection, and disease control. However, an increasing case load, along with the increased use of mobile telephones, has made case interviews more challenging to complete. For this reason, the Colorado Integrated Food Safety Center of Excellence (CO CoE) developed and evaluated the Colorado Mobile Health (mHealth) Project using online surveys to supplement routine telephone-based enteric disease case investigations.
The Colorado CoE is coordinating a national user’s group to discuss lessons learned and resources related to using online surveys for routine enteric disease case investigation. To learn more, email CO CoE coordinator Ingrid Hewitson (Ingrid.hewitson@state.co.us) and join our next meeting on Wednesday, October 28, 1pm Mountain Time.
