Colorado's Public Health Programs

Colorado has a number of diverse public health programs that allow the public health system to run effectively and efficiently.

After interacting with the content, participants will be able to:

 

  • Identify 2 purposes of public health surveillance.
  • Name 2 goals of informal data collection that occurs for disease investigation.
  • Name at least 4 reportable conditions that are mandated to be reported in Colorado.

Public health surveillance is the way public health goes about monitoring the occurrence of disease. In this video, we explore what public health surveillance looks like for the communicable disease branch of public health, including how emerging infections are reported to CDPHE.
