Outbreak Playbook

The Outbreak Playbook is a compilation of key points and tools for use by public health professionals who participate in foodborne illness outbreak investigations. The Playbook walks users through the 11 steps of an outbreak investigation (from “Establish Existence of an Outbreak” to “Closing an Outbreak”). This resource is designed for novice investigators and can be utilized during or in advance of a foodborne outbreak. This training was developed by the Colorado Integrated Food Safety Center of Excellence (CoE) and the Rocky Mountain Public Health Training Center.
